Congratulations to Destinee Ingrao, DMD ‘15, for being selected as the January ASDA Member of the Month. Destinee was elected Editor-in-Chief for the Newsletter Committee last spring. 

When asked about her committee, Destinee said, “My favorite thing has been helping and seeing the newspaper evolve.” In December 2014, the Newsletter committee released its biggest issue ever! With more articles and more and new people writing, this will be the issue ASDA submits for the Gold Crown Award, which is excitingly held in our hometown this year! #idealboston

Just as many of those who caught the ASDA fever, Destinee believes that ASDA is a great way for dental students to learn about and start getting involved in our profession. “Since dentistry is a profession of constant evolution, it's important to become aware and informed about current topics related to dentistry,” she said. 

While finishing requirements and studying for and preparing for boards, she hardly has any time left for adventures. However, she just got accepted into her dream program- AEGD at Georgia Regents University, which has been a positive reinforcement and keeps her going till the end!

Destinee has a very sweet dog that she loves to spend time with. In particular, she loves taking her to the park for play dates and spending time outside, which helps her distress and remember the bigger picture in life.

ASDA truly appreciates Destinee’s efforts and wishes her luck in finishing graduation requirements and in future endeavors.

It's finally here, the time of year we've all been waiting for, the 2015 ASDA Annual Session! This year we are especially excited to welcome Annual Session to Boston, February 18th-21st! With over 500 dental students and pre-dental students in attendance from across the country, Annual Session is sure to be an amazing experience! 

Annual Session has so much to offer including:

• Discuss and vote on association policy in the business meetings of ASDA's House of Delegates  
  
• Elect the executive committee, speaker of the House and District trustees
  
• Earn CE credits through the Academy of General Dentistry (must be an AGD student member)
  
• Hear the latest updates on issues impacting dental students
  
• Discuss research at the Student Research Poster Session  
  
• Learn about dental products and services and make contacts with organizations at the dental expo 
  
• Celebrate the successes of ASDA members and leaders at the President’s Gala and Gold Crown Awards 

This year BU ASDA has committed to helping more students than ever attend Annual Session. Registration for local attendees normally cost $550, which includes all educational sessions and House of Delegates meetings, Welcome Reception, Gold Crown Ceremony and President's Gala, Detal Expo and continental breakfast and lunch Thursday, Friday, Saturday and dinner on Saturday night! However, this year, BU ASDA members selected attend will only have to pay $50!
