![]() Congratulations to Nidhi Arora ,our AS ’16 Class Representative, for being chosen as August’s Member of the Month! Nidhi grew up in New Delhi, India and then made the move to our great city of Boston last year after a 3-year stay in New York City. Lucky for us, Nidhi became interested in ASDA during the first few days of her orientation week last year. She states, “I loved how enthusiastic and fun the events were, be it the scavenger hunt, socials or community outreach programs. I knew that I wanted to be a part of it!” When asked about what she enjoys most about being a class representative she said: “ASDA has helped me get a lot more out of my school experience than I had ever imagined. Being an international student and in a relatively short 2 year program, its given me the opportunity to interact with so many interesting and inspiring people within and outside of my class. I love serving as the link between ASDA at large and the rest of my classmates. It’s a pleasure to keep them updated in the various events that ASDA organizes through the year. I like how the BU chapter is so well structured and its different committees cover all possible aspects of dentistry. I’ve enjoyed working with diversity and inclusion and the advocacy committee.” Her most memorable ASDA moment was the Gold Crown Ceremony at the Annual session. It made her realize how huge ASDA really is as an organization and the impact that it has at a national level. She also enjoyed the event because “It left us all with many thoughts and ideas that we wanted to bring home to our BU chapter.” When Nidhi is not involved with ASDA events or in the clinic, she enjoys going for long walks. In the past year she has discovered that Boston has some beautiful walking trails. She finds long walks very relaxing and they make her feel connected to nature. At the top of her bucket list is to fly in a hot air balloon. There are several places she would like to fly over, but her number one place would be Serengeti National park, Tanzania. Nidhi leaves us with some great advice: “ ‘Don’t let school get in the way of education!’ Make sure you take out time for yourself, pick up a hobby, learn a new language, go for a run and don’t get too overwhelmed with the exam routine!” We are so happy and excited to have you with us and we look forward to working with you for rest of the year!
